There are many accessories which are used in conjunction with rainwater tanks, some are simple devices others are more complex. New Water supplies and installs basically all the accessories required to ensure an installation is optimized for your home. These range from leaf diverters, first flush diversion devices, mains back-up devices to fully fledged irrigation systems and filtration systems.
Some of key accessories which we recommend are as follows:
Rain Alert Gauge
The Rain Alert is a wireless measurement device that allows you to monitor the level of your tank/s (including your Rain Reviva underhouse solution) from the comfort of your own home.
A Transmitter fits to the top of your tank/s and a receiver is plugged into a powerpoint at a convenient location, such as the kitchen, bathroom, garage or shed. For full details of the Rain Alert click here
Other Accesssories:
The picture below is of a slimline tank but the accessories are similarly applicable for the Rain Reviva undehouse solutions as well.

1. Leaf diverter
these should be connected to every downpipe which you decide to link to your tank (including if you install a Rain Reviva solution). They prevent blocked gutters and flooded eaves by diverting leaves and other debris away from your tank.
2. First-flush device
These devices maintain the quality of your rainwater by diverting the first flush of rain away from your tank thus preventing contaminants from the roof entering your tank. As you can see, it is the long white pipe running parrallel to the tank with a slim hose directing the "first flush" of rain into the drain.
3. Rain Tank Litter Tap/Mosquito Gauze
Make sure your tank has a litter trap and mosquito guaze to ensure there is no chance of litter or mosquitos getting into your tank.
4. Pump - all New Water solutions come with a pump which is designed for your needs. This may also include a pressure control or mains back-up device which automatically switches between rainwater and mains water when the tank is empty. For more information about the pumps we install please refer below:
4a. The New Water Automatic Rain Reviva Pump System - features a stainless steel pump chamber, loss of prime protection and a pressure control switch. Once set up, the pump will automatically start when the system senses that a tap or valve is opened. This quiet running pump will deliver 50 litres per minute or a 36 metre head pressure and provides years of trouble free service. Please click here for more information
4b. Davey Rainbank and Pump - if you would like the ability to link your rainwater tank (including your Rain Reviva) and your mains water so as you can use the rainwater until it runs out and then automatically switch back to the mains then you will need to ask us to install a Davey Rainbank - for full details about the Davey Rainbank simply click here for a pdf document or click here for a link to Davey's website with an animation showing how the Rainbank works.
4c. Specialised needs - New Water installs the entire range of Davey pumps and so even if you have special requirements such as a large pump for complex irrigation requirements, we will have the pump for you.
5. Filters - if you decide you would like to use your rainwater in your house we suggest you filter it prior to using the water. This will ensure it is clean, to the level you require which may be drinking or simply reuse in the washing machine or toilets. New Water stocks and installs a range of filters which are designed for your needs. Click here for details of these filters.
Remember though, not all homes are the same and we believe that you want a solution that is right for your home so please do not hesitate to ask us to your home for a free site consultation – we are just one click away.
